Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of heroes who will separate from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a intense opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the secret base, attacking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the region and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the party access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to journey toward the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
